Alaa completed her Master of Health Sciences in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto. Originally from the United Arab Emirates, she moved to Canada in 2016 and brings bilingual experience in English and Arabic. She values a holistic approach and believes everyone should feel heard and supported. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with loved ones.

Salam was born and raised in Ottawa. She holds a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Ottawa. She speaks English, French, Lebanese Arabic, and some Spanish, and is certified in Hanen’s It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words. She creates client-centred, culturally sensitive, and neurodiversity-affirming environments. Outside of work, she enjoys playing piano, singing, reading, watching movies, caring for aquariums, and peaceful forest walks.

Mikaela earned her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Ottawa. She has experience working with toddlers, school-age children, adults, and seniors, supporting a wide range of communication needs including articulation, language comprehension and expression, cognition, and fluency (stuttering). Her therapy approach is neurodiversity-affirming and collaborative with clients and families to target their most meaningful goals. Originally from Niagara Falls, Mikaela now calls Ottawa her second home. In her spare time, she enjoys indoor rock climbing, reading, and hunting for the city’s best coffee spots.

Tanaya completed her Master of Clinical Science at Western University after a double major in Psychology and Linguistics at Memorial University. She has several years of school-based experience focusing on articulation, phonology, motor speech, fluency, and resonance. She brings warmth and a team-based approach so families feel involved. Outside the clinic, she loves reading fantasy, science fiction, comics, and collecting animal and Disney facts.

Is there a waitlist for speech therapy in Kanata?
We currently offer same-week appointments for private one-to-one assessments and therapy, depending on availability. Contact our team and we will help you find the earliest appointment option.
Is parking free at 99 Kakulu Rd?
Yes. Free, accessible parking is available in front of the building and along the side of the building.
Do I need a doctor’s referral to book?
No. A doctor’s referral is not required to book a private speech therapy assessment. Parents and adults can contact us directly to get started.
Do you accept Ontario Autism Program funding?
Yes. Parents may use Ontario Autism Program funding for eligible speech therapy services. Please confirm eligible expenses directly with AccessOAP or your OAP care coordinator.
What languages are available at the Kanata clinic?
Our Kanata team may offer support in English, French, Arabic, Urdu, and other languages depending on clinician availability. Andalusia also offers virtual therapy options and multilingual support across the wider team
