Tanaya was born in Labrador City, Newfoundland and moved to Ontario as a child. She returned to her roots to complete a double major in psychology and linguistics at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She then completed the cycle by returning to Ontario to obtain her Master of Clinical Science at Western University. She brings several years of experience supporting children in school-based settings, with a focus on assessing and treating articulation, phonology, motor speech, fluency, and resonance.
Tanaya is dedicated to helping children and their families feel empowered, and she ensures that everyone involved in therapy feels and knows they are part of the team. She strives to be cheerful and compassionate in order to create a safe space for learning and recognizes that all feelings are valid in speech therapy. Regardless of whether you are experiencing joy, frustration, or anxiety, Tanaya is ready to meet you wherever you feel the day of your session.
When not at the clinic, Tanaya enjoys reading. She loves fantasy, science fiction, scary stories, comics, and animal and Disney facts.
