Aliya Wallace holds an Honours Bachelor in (Neuro-) Linguistics from the University of Toronto, with minors in Neuroscience and Bioethics. During her studies, she specialized in understanding how developmental disorders and traumatic brain injuries affect speech and behaviour. Her research focused on two key areas: the neurological underpinnings of Aphasia and the critical need for early speech and behavioural therapies for neurodivergent children of colour in today’s social climate.
With experience in supporting children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or genetic conditions as a neuro-affirming behaviour technician, Aliya has worked closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide consistent, individualized care. Aliya is passionate about creating inclusive, compassionate environments and building strong, trusting relationships with the children, adults and families she supports. During her free time, she enjoys yoga and spending time with her new dog.
