We acknowledge that the land on which our clinic operates has been the traditional land of the Anishinaabe, including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Ojibway/Chippewa, and the Haudenosaunee peoples. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties, a series of agreements made during the late 18th and early 19th centuries between the Indigenous peoples and the British Crown. Today, this land is home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples. As a speech therapy clinic, we also want to acknowledge the beauty of Indigenous languages and the value and importance they have held throughout history and continue to hold today.
