Psychotherapy

Mental health is as important as physical health, and a part of our everyday lives, Our registered Psychotherapist is trained to provide confidential assessments and therapy to our clients over Zoom. We can help adult clients as their communication disorder impacts their mental health, parents or caregivers of children with communication disorders, or IFHP clients to help them process their experiences. Contact us today to find out if we can help you.

What to expect during your visit:

During the first psychotherapy session, a client can expect to work with the therapist to explore their concerns, mental and/or physical health history, past trauma, relationships, as well as other areas that could be impacting their well-being. The client will have the space to share as they feel comfortable. Closer to the end of the session, the client and therapist will work together to set therapeutic goals which will be worked on in subsequent sessions.

Based on the personal goals, clients can expect to develop multiple skills and strategies to support their well-being, but they will also be able to recognize any areas that may be holding them back. We recognize that goals may change as the client’s life and mental health evolves over time; therefore, the counsellor will check in with you to re-evaluate your goals as needed.

Therapy sessions are usually recommended weekly or bimonthly based on the client’s concerns. Homework or take-home worksheets may be provided between sessions to further support your journey to greater well-being.
